The ceremony to award medals to Rwandan soldiers will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Bossembele in OMBERA M’POKO Province, which is usually the base of Rwabat-2.

The ceremony was presided over by Major General Luis Manuel Ricardo Monsanto, Deputy Commander of the UN peacekeeping force in Central Africa, who praised the role played by the Rwandan armed forces in restoring peace and stability in the country.

“For demonstrating a high level of professionalism, decency, dedication and sacrifice in the conduct of his work, particularly in this field of responsibility.”


The Commander of the Rwandan Armed Forces of the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic, Lieutenant Colonel PC RUNYANGE, praised MINUSCA, the Government of Rwanda and other allied forces for their support and assured that they will continue to work together in the spirit of values ​​and purpose.

He also commended the Rwandan Rwabat-2 Army for their dedication in performing their assigned duties and assured the audience that the troops under his command are ready and willing to fly high the UN flag in peacekeeping operations.


The ceremony was attended by several government officials from Central Africa, Didier Rugina, the second counselor of the office representing Rwanda’s interests in Central Africa, and the Rwandan community living in the Central African Republic.
