Vatican unveils official logo and motto for Pope Francis’ visit to East Timor « Government of Tim-Leste

The Holy See announced today, May 8, 2024, the logo and official motto of the Apostolic Visit of Pope Francis to our country.

The Holy See explained in a publication that “the center of the emblem is an image of Pope Francis blessing, symbolizing the protection that the people of East Timor have received from God during the Pope’s apostolic journey”. Behind the image of Pope Francis, “we have a globe, with the geographical map of East Timor standing out in the foreground”.

The motto chosen by the Pope for his visit is “May your faith be your culture,” which is “an exhortation and encouragement to live in harmony between faith and culture, in accordance with the traditions of the Timorese people.”

Pope Francis’ Apostolic Visit from September 9 to 11, 2024 is a historic moment for our country and it is eagerly anticipated.

The Government Organizing Committee of the Pope’s Visit to Timor-Leste will continue its efforts to prepare and organize the event to ensure its success.
