Due to flooding in the Alaverdi region, many settlements were blocked.
The settlements of Akhtala, Shamlugh, Pokr Ayr, Mets Ayr, Chochkan, Shnogh and Teghut are reportedly now blocked, while the settlement of Karkop and the bridge leading to Karkop have been evacuated. The M6 motorway is reportedly no longer usable.
The Akhtala Bridge, which connects the above-mentioned settlements with the M6 Expressway, is currently submerged in water. It is not known whether it has gone with the river or remained in place. The road leading to the bridge has also been submerged in water and it is likely that it will become impassable after the water recedes.
