Northern Province police spokesperson Jean Bosco Mwiseneza said the incident occurred at 7:30pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Gasiza Cell, Kivuruga area, Gakenke District.
SP Mwiseneza said three passengers in the car were injured, “The car hit a tree on the roadside and three passengers in the car were injured. They were taken to Ruhengeri Hospital by ambulance.”
The injured included Niyitegeka Jean Baptiste, 33, with head and back injuries, Irabusu Omela, 21, with arm injuries, and Berwa Dela Joe Ines, 21, with facial injuries.
SP Mwiseneza said investigations were ongoing to ascertain the cause of the accident.
