Emirates Academy of Finance has announced the graduation of the sixth cohort of its Leaders in Finance programme, which was held at Grove Park, the centre dedicated to executive education at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
The programme, developed in partnership with Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, aims to train senior financial managers from the country’s and the GCC region’s most important banks and financial institutions.
The program, themed “Strategic Leadership in Turbulent Times”, lasts for two weeks and focuses on three main axes: strategic leadership, organizational leadership and personal leadership.
Noura Al Balushi, Director General of the Institute for Finance, said: “The UAE business environment is characterised by global standards that are similar to those of the most advanced countries, and the competition and dynamism of its markets keep it in a state of constant change and development. This presents challenges for the banking and finance sector that need to evolve. This requires the need to invest in the capabilities of financial managers and their leadership skills and give them a competitive advantage that will help them succeed. This is where the role of the programme we have designed in partnership with (Oxford) Saïd College comes into play.” Since its launch in 2020, the leadership development programme has graduated 150 leaders across five classes, and this year’s Class of 2024 saw the Emirates Institute for Finance welcome a further 30 participants, including senior executives at the C-suite level who are UAE citizens.
