Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and interlocutor of the “Greater Sunrise” discussions, Agio Pereira, met today, June 18, 2024, at the Government Palace in Dili with representatives of the Japanese oil company INPEX. 
During the meeting, INPEX Representative in Timor-Leste, Yosuke Ueda, introduced his team members and briefly explained the company’s experience in the energy sector and the company’s mission in Timor-Leste. In addition to the INPEX Representative in Timor-Leste, the meeting was also attended by INPEX Dili Office Consultants Broadie Sugai and Suzana Cunha. 
Minister Agio congratulated INPEX on the recent opening of its office in Timor-Leste on 3 June 2024. Minister Agio said the opening of the INPEX office is a positive step towards closer coordination with all stakeholders including the ANP, Timor Gap and also through the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Francisco da Costa Monteiro, and Minister Agio himself as the Special Representative of the Timor-Leste Government for Greater Sunrise. 
At the meeting, INPEX also expressed interest in the Greater Sunrise and South Coast developments.
INPEX is recognized as Japan’s largest oil and gas exploration and production company with extensive experience in the development of the oil industry. The company has invested in the energy sector in several countries, including Indonesia and Australia.
