The country expects economic activity to increase
Kyrgyzstan’s economy is growing. This is confirmed by the World Bank’s analysis.
The financial institution said that since the beginning of this year, the forecast for economic development at the end of 2024 has been raised from 0.5% to 4.5%. Economic activity is expected to strengthen.
The optimistic forecast lags slightly behind the central bank’s data, which promised real economic growth of about 6.9% by the end of the year.
To explain, according to official data, in the first quarter of this year, the Kyrgyz economy grew by 8.8%. Compared with the same period in 2023, it grew by 2.6%.
Cabinet Minister Akylbek Japarov said at a meeting of the Presidential Administration that according to the Ministry of Economy’s forecasts, nominal GDP in 2024 is expected to be 1.4 trillion som.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the average salary in the republic also increased by 11.7%. It is now 34,00391 som.
