Special state aid to support primary agricultural production and aquaculture has been increased from the originally planned 8 million euros to nearly 13 million euros. After evaluating the applications, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MPRV) and the Agricultural Payment Agency (PPA) informed on Monday that the contracts have been sent to eligible applicants.

“The support of our farmers and Slovak Food is crucial for our government. The PPA accepted 919 applications from primary producers for the production of specialty plants as part of state aid. Of these, 886 met the conditions of the program and they will reallocate a total of €12,946,857. Calculated by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Richard Takáč (Smer-SD).

This call is in response to the consequences of the crisis caused by Russian aggression in Ukraine and aims to help stabilize business entities as well as the environment in general. The MPRV increased the funds initially allocated by 5 million euros, allowing the sector to meet the needs of vegetable, fruit, beet, potato, pulse, corn, herb, wine growers, fishery and aquaculture entrepreneurs and farmers using the covered area.

PPA accepted applications through the ITMS2014+ system from May 3 to 17 this year. “PPA has been sending notifications to applicants since Friday regarding the dispatch of contracts. The contracts can be downloaded directly in the ITMS2014+ system or through a link in the notification email received,” Marek Cepko, the agency’s general manager, explains.
