Four people riding two unlicensed motorcycles were killed in a three-vehicle crash in Westmoreland yesterday.
They have not yet been identified.
According to the latest police statistics, 190 people have died in motor vehicle accidents since the beginning of the year, 11 fewer than the same period last year.
According to police, two motorcycles, each with a pillion passenger, were attempting to overtake a car which was turning left on the main road in Culloden.
It was reported that both vehicles collided head-on with a bus travelling in the opposite direction.
The impact of the collision caused both motorcycles to hit the car they were overtaking.
