VIDEO/PHOTOS: A fire destroyed the ELS auto shop and two houses on Texas Road in Susupe on Saturday night. The auto shop and houses are about 200 meters from the Susupe Fire Department and the Northern Marianas Department of Corrections. According to some residents in the area, the fire started around 10 p.m. on Saturday and was put out around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday. Residents told Variety that there were some explosions but no one was injured. “Several cars at the auto shop caught fire, but the room we stayed in was far from the auto shop so it didn’t burn,” one resident told Variety. “Most of us were either in bed or getting ready to go to bed when the fire started,” said another resident.
