Mr Ranjan Ramanayake, a former deputy minister, said he only attended the meeting organised by Mr Harin Fernando as a singer.
Mr. Ramanayake said that he was a professional singer and therefore accepted the invitation to sing.
He stressed that if other political parties invited them to sing, they would also accept it.
He also pointed out that since his community rights were abolished, he only took up singing and acting.
