Merdeka.com – The Cilegon City Government has won the National Population Development Design Award from the Indonesian National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN). The award was presented in conjunction with the National Family Day (Haganas) commemoration held in Palembang on Tuesday (April 7, 2023). A total of 10 districts and cities were shortlisted in the top 10 for this event.

The 10 urban areas are Sleman Regency, Bogor City, Cilegon City, Depok City, Jambi City, Madiun City, Palembang City, Semarang City, Surabaya City and Tangerang City.

“Thank God, Cilegon City won the third Grand Design Award for Best National Population Development in the context of National Family Day in Palembang on July 4, 2023,” said Cilegon Mayor Helldy Agustian after receiving the award.

Hrdi said his party explained the policy directions outlined in Indonesia’s five-year population development plan to achieve population development goals.

He said that the General Design of Population Development (GDPK) has five pillars. One of them is based on Law No. 52/2009 on Population Development and Family Development (UU).

“The preparation of the Cilegon City Population Development Master Design from 2022 to 2047 was conducted through three channels: review of policy documents, study of good programs and practices, and academic research,” he said.

According to him, the stages of 5-pillar GDPK preparation activities start from forming the 5-pillar GDPK preparation implementation team to reporting.

“At that stage, the activities for preparing the 5-pillar GDPK will start with forming an implementation team for preparing the 5-pillar GDPK,” he explained.

Then comes the work plan for the 5 pillars of GDPK, preparation of academic research on the 5 pillars of GDPK, formulation of 25-year population forecast, formulation of the vision and mission population development strategy for the 25-year policy direction.

He added that it is necessary to unify and determine the vision and mission of population development over the next 25 years as well as the strategic policy direction, and formulate a 25-year population development roadmap.
