Alexander Lukashenko organized an “anti-corruption conference” to discuss the activities of illegal groups. Alexander Lukashenko accuses Jews of enjoying privileges, which they allegedly use to increase the level of corruption in Belarus.
“Sorry, I don’t consider myself an anti-Semite, but more than half of them are Jews, do they have some special privileged role, they stole these rights without thinking about their future? ?All nationalities living in Belarus should have equal rights: Jews, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Russians and Poles,” Lukashenko said.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz responded to the Belarusian leader’s critical comments, calling such statements “unacceptable, outrageous and patently anti-Semitic.”
This is not the first time that Lukashenko has spoken negatively about Jews. In 2017, he accused them of turning Bobruisk into a “pigsty”, and in 2021 he spoke about rational people in Armenia because “there is not a single Jew there.”
