Koror, Palau – Members of the Guam Cancer Care team are in Palau to meet with President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr., Secretary Gaafar Uherbelau, and the Department of Health and Human Services team. Together, we are creating a system that will provide better access to cancer care and medicines for the people of Palau.
President Whipps signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Guam Cancer Care Center on December 18, 2023. The MOU establishes A collaboration between the Palau Department of Health and Human Services (MHHS) and the Guam Cancer Care Center is paving the way for improved health outcomes and greater patient satisfaction for all cancer patients in Palau.
The meeting coincided with Cancer Awareness Month in the Republic of Palau.
“I urge all citizens to get involved in raising awareness about cancer, support those affected by this disease, and participate in initiatives that help close health disparities,” the President said as he signed the proclamation. “Let us all come together to build a healthier, more resilient nation.”
