Mexico City (apro) – Juan Carlos “N” , 48, was arrested at the mayor’s office of Coyoacan on suspicion of beating and assaulting a member of the UAM Xochimilco, an incident that was captured on video and went viral on social media networks.
The arrest took place this Saturday afternoon in the Del Carmen neighborhood, when he was arrested for drug possession. The subject was in prison in 1996 for robbery of a passerby.
The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) reported in a statement that after the video of detainees beating UAM members was circulated in recent days, office and field investigations have been carried out in the region. .

At this point, through analysis of the video surveillance cameras at the C2 and C5 command and control centers, the white sedan in which the suspect escaped after committing the double crime was identified.
The vehicle was located on the street at the corner of Malincin Street and Mexico Avenue in the Del Carmen neighborhood of the Coyoacan Mayor’s Office. According to the SSC, the driver handled paper packaging similar to that used for drug distribution.
The police approached the car with a Mexican license plate and conducted a precautionary check. Then they found 100 orange and 60 transparent plastic bags containing marijuana, 38 green and yellow paper packages containing cocaine and cash.
Juan Carlos “N” was therefore detained and handed over to the appropriate public sector agent, who will determine his legal situation and continue investigating the case.
