Photo: “Honoring our past, pioneering our future.” was the theme for this year’s EMS Week. To cap off the week of events and outreach, a 2024 awards ceremony was held, recognizing some of Guam’s outstanding EMS providers. The Paramedic of the Year award was received by Captain Peter Martinez of the Guam Fire Department and Benny Castro of the Marianas Joint District Fire and Emergency Services Department. The Senior Emergency Medical Technician of the Year award was received by Captain Jose Taitingfong of GFD. The Emergency Medical Technician of the Year award was received by Firefighter Beltran Tosco of GFD, Jonathan Castro of the Anderson Fire Department, and Elijah Quichocho of Access Medical Transport. The Emergency Medical Dispatcher of the Year award was presented to Joycelene Chaco of GFD.
