The aforementioned decree also provides for the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MICM) to develop a National Strategy for the Promotion of the Semiconductor Industry (ENFIS), the main objective of which is to position the Dominican Republic as a strategic, competitive country, a reliable and secure destination for the global semiconductor industry.
The goal of this presidential provision is to lay the foundations for the development of the microchip industry in all areas: research and development, design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, packaging and logistics, making the country a reference for reliability, security and competitiveness, among others.
