Engineer Val Talmuham, executive director general of the General Telecommunications Corporation, announced today in the temporary capital of Aden that the official trial phase of Starlink (satellite Internet) services has begun in the liberated provinces to evaluate the services provided by the joint technical team of the company and Starlink and ensure the quality of high-speed satellite Internet services.

Engineer Talmuum said in a press statement: “This step was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Wad Badib, Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology, after the telecommunications company and Starlink completed all legal procedures, met technical requirements, and completed commercialization.” The service began in early January last year, making the telecommunications company an authorized agent of Starlink in Yemen.

He explained that the next stage will be to work on correcting the situation of the equipment currently operating in the international system, the service is open to everyone, and the degree of efficient improvement of reception services will be further increased. Pointing out that our country will enter the official coverage orbit of satellite Internet services from May next year, everyone will notice that the geographical location of Yemen is now visible on the coverage map of the Starlink website. , after previously appearing in dark colors, it appears in light colors.

Engineer Tamum pointed out that the various services will be provided through approved sales points affiliated with the organization, which are ready to operate in most liberated provinces, and the number of sales points will be increased if there is a need. The latest specifications will also be launched at a price suitable for everyone. There will be four packages with different speeds, allowing users to choose the package that suits them at a reasonable price.

He stressed that the company will take all legal action against shops and those that advertise service requests on social media sites, warned violators that the equipment they own will be confiscated, and reminded citizens to avoid violations to avoid any fines.
