Zr. MS. Over the past 5 months, Groningen has seized around 7,000 kg of drugs in the Caribbean. Today the patrol boat returned to Den Helder. A warm welcome from family and friends awaits the crew there. Zr. MS. Netherlands will now take over the mission on the western front.
The Groningen cooperated with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Caribbean Coast Guard to seize drugs. For example, the ship received help from a U.S. helicopter stationed on board when it spotted a suspicious vessel.
