Libreville, Sunday, September 1, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – At a press conference last Saturday, the spokesperson of the Institutional Transition and Recovery Commission (CTRI) took stock of the first 12 months of transition in Gabon.
If the head of state, General Brice Clotaire Origi Nguema, did not talk much about this topic during the celebrations of the anniversary of the liberation coup on August 30, 2024, the invitation of journalists to the Royal Palace highlighted all the achievements of the CTRI a year after taking over power.
This man, who is clearly well versed in all subjects, demonstrated the excellent work done by the CTRI at the social, economic and security levels, without forgetting institutional reforms through an inclusive national dialogue. For him, the results of the actions of the ruling army are satisfying, as their actions are aimed at the sustainable development of Gabon.
“In one year, Gabon has undergone a profound transformation characterized by structural reforms and tangible achievements that have affected all aspects of national life. This extraordinary achievement would not have been possible without the resolute leadership of our Head of State, who has been able to guide our country towards the renaissance desired by all Gabonese people.”
According to him, General Brice Clotaire Origi Nguema and his comrades, with the ambition to restore the dignity of the Gabonese, together with other compatriots, have involved the country in a huge project whose main pillar is the revitalization of the economy, an engine of development advocated by the Gabonese government.
It is in this sense that the hydrocarbon and mining sectors have been the target of ambitious initiatives, in particular the exploration of diamond deposits in the Mitsch and Nzezele regions, and rare earth minerals in Lambaréné, Belinga and Banyaka.
He also highlighted the reform of the mining code, providing tax incentives and investment stability guarantees to attract foreign investment, thereby enhancing Gabon’s attractiveness.
As expected, Colonel Urich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi could not fail to mention the purchase of Asara Energy by the Gabonese government, which strengthens Gabon’s ability to govern itself for the benefit of its people.
The transitional authorities also worked to return Gabon to the international arena through active and effective diplomacy. To this end, key relationships were rebuilt and other strategic links were subsequently established to maintain Gabon’s pioneering role in sustainable development and regional stability, not to mention paying off the debt left by the former leaders, the spokesperson said.
At the social level, the CTRI spokesman cited the reconstruction of secondary scholarships and their improvements for students, free registration fees for public and religious institutions, construction and rehabilitation of schools, hospitals, sustainable roads, regularization of the state administrative situation agency, support measures for retirees, reduction in gas prices.
He also listed consideration of pay increases for command support staff (district, state, group and other leaders).
It can be said that the actions taken by the transitional authorities are in the best interests of the country and the entire Gabonese people.
