New Delhi: In a major development, the President of India on Tuesday appointed new governors of four states. The President appointed Thawarchand Gehlot as the Governor of Karnataka, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati as the Governor of Mizoram, Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel as the Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
In addition to the new appointments, President Kovind also announced that Mizoram Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai will be transferred to become Goa Governor. Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya will be transferred to become Tripura Governor.
Tripura Governor Ramshi Bais was transferred to become the Governor of Jharkhand. Himachal Pradesh Governor Vandaru Dattatraya was transferred to become the Governor of Haryana.
According to the official announcement, the above appointment will take effect from the date of his appointment.
