The “Calm Down” singer made the donation during a meeting held on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
Rema thanked the church and its leadership for the strong support given to his family, especially during the difficult times they went through after the death of his father.
He said: “I am not here to seek glory or other praise. I am here to give glory to God. I feel it is important to acknowledge the kindness I have received because the church has welcomed me, prayed for me and helped me to remain that way.”
Rema went on to say that he was willing to pledge his support for the various activities of the church, including the construction of various buildings.
“First of all, I want to pledge N40 million for the infrastructure of the church. I also want to promise them that N25 million will be used for the infrastructure of the church to help the youths.”
Rema also donated another Amanai 20 million to support the activities of the church’s widows.
The artist went on to talk about how the church supported his family through the difficult times following his father’s death.
He said: “When I lost my father when I was eight years old, we felt very lost and abandoned. Everything we had was taken away from us and we felt alone. I remember Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, who were pastors of this church at the time, opened a shop for my mother and that helped her take care of us.”
