Teachers in Tarnowskie Góry prevented a bus accident

Pupils of Tarnovski Gori Primary School No. 15 were returning from Krakow on Monday. There were 32 children and three teachers on the bus: Danuta Wowro, Bożena Kalinowska and Anna Biedal-Tarska. At some point, the bus driver lost consciousness.

“One of the paramedics noticed that the bus began to move into the opposite lane, she immediately grabbed the steering wheel, and two other teachers helped pull the unconscious driver away and stopped the vehicle. The teachers quoted in the article stressed that thanks also go to the students who behaved well. – They responded to every word and command and maintained strict discipline. We were in the middle of a very busy road. Our bus stopped in the middle of the road, and trucks and cars were running wildly on both sides. For us, it was just a matter of seconds, but then we spent another two hours worrying to prevent another tragedy from happening. This requires cooperation between teachers and students, says Bożena Kalinowska

The bus driver was checked by rescue workers and did not require assistance.

Góry Arkadiusz, Mayor of Tarnovsky Czech Deputy Mayor Jolanta Tuszyńska extended special thanks and cash awards to the teachers.
