The Arab Organization for Administrative Development, a subsidiary of the Arab League, will host the second Arab Forum for Promoting Transparency and Good Governance with the theme of “Integrity and Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” from September 10 to 12 next year in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.
In a statement today, the organization explained that the Forum aims to develop a unified roadmap to promote the realization of integrity and transparency, strengthen the political agenda against corruption in the region, and establish a path for cooperation between governments, media, civil society and the private sector, in addition to identifying strengths and weaknesses in the construction of … a participatory action plan to strengthen efforts in this regard, and to propose collaborative and in-depth measures to build a strong and flexible platform for communication, dialogue and cooperation among all parties involved in the fight against corruption.
The forum, held in partnership with Transparency International, the European Union and Iraq’s Federal Integrity Commission, was attended by elite officials and experts from many international and regional organizations, members of development, anti-corruption and oversight bodies and parliamentary and legislative committees, as well as consultants, experts, university professors and researchers with an interest in the field from various Arab countries.
