Libreville, Saturday, August 31, 2024 (Gabon News) – This was announced by the Head of State in a speech to the nation on Thursday, August 29, on the occasion of the commemorations of the anniversary of the August 30, 2023 coup of liberation.
One thousand nine hundred (1900) social housing units will be built for the benefit of Gabonese civil servants. “We plan to build 1,900 social housing units of 2 and 3 bedrooms for civil servants, following the model designed for the military,” said General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, but he noted that the acquisition was conditional.
According to him, civil servants who benefit from this advantage will have to mortgage their monthly housing bonus, which will constitute a guarantee of funds for purchasing housing.
The private sector is not excluded. The authorities will also consider such agents and those without sufficient resources. “Other mechanisms are being studied that will involve the private sector and the so-called economically vulnerable groups,” General Origi Nguema added.
Remember, on August 8, 2024, the Transitional President attended the inauguration of the Colonel Eugene Mbungu Residential City. The city consists of 125 houses designed to house members of the Republican Guard (GR) and reserved commercial space for military spouses. These are new three (3) bedroom houses, well designed, functional, comfortable and in good condition.
