7 killed, 37 injured in bus accident Mississippi Saturday morning.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol said the accident occurred when a commercial passenger vehicle traveling west on Interstate 20 in Warren County veered off the roadway and overturned. The agency responded to the scene around 12:40 a.m. There were 47 people on the vehicle at the time of the accident. No other vehicles were involved.

His office is in the process of identifying all the victims but will not release identities until next of kin are notified.
So far, he has identified the victims as three men and two women, including a six-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, who were siblings. Husky said the children’s mother was in the car with them at the time of the accident but survived. The boy was taken to the hospital and later died.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene along with five other people. All seven victims were from Latin America, including Guatemala.
Husky said the men’s preliminary manner of death was blunt force trauma.
A total of 37 passengers were taken to hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson. Some were in critical condition. Not everyone on the bus was injured.
“Any time someone gets hurt or killed, it’s a tragedy, but in this case, with multiple people dead and multiple people injured, it’s even worse,” Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace told reporters. CNN affiliate WAPT.
“The accident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division,” the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it would send an “action team” to conduct a safety investigation into the accident, which was caused by a tire failure on the coach.
