Israel Defense Forces artillery units entered the Gaza Strip for the first time to assist ground forces in Operation Iron Sword, the Israeli military announced on Sunday.
The IDF said the 282nd Artillery Division, in cooperation with the 188th Brigade, carried out the operation in the Shejaia neighborhood of Gaza City.
During the operation, the division attacked more than 20 terrorist targets, including warehouses storing weapons, bomb-ridden houses and other Hamas military infrastructure.
The Israel Defense Forces released footage of its artillery units in action in Gaza.
