The Commercial Bank of Syria announced that it has taken a series of additional measures to facilitate the exchange of $100 for citizens arriving through Damascus International Airport.
The bank said that after reviewing the implementation of the cash equivalent exchange mechanism to facilitate the exchange of $100, based on the need to improve services and facilitate the arrival of compatriots through Damascus International Airport, the Syrian Bank Commercial Bank decided to take the following additional measures:
– Give citizens the freedom to choose between receiving the equivalent amount in Syrian pounds in cash or a cheque to be cashed at a bank branch.
– Considering that the check received by the citizen upon cashing the $100 is transferable, i.e., it can be received by any other person who holds it, while confirming that there is no specific deadline for cashing the check.
The equivalent of $100 in cash will be placed in sealed envelopes and delivered to citizens in the form of 5,000 Syrian pounds, with the aim of speeding up the process and avoiding shortages.
Citizens can request that the corresponding amount be deposited into their bank account at the Commercial Bank of Syria.
