ABBA Re-Björn, the UK’s leading ABBA tribute band, will perform in Kampala on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September 2024, which will be their first show in Uganda.
The event, sponsored by I&M Bank Uganda and Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) with their premium gin brands Gordon’s Gin and Tanqueray, will be held at Somewhere Else Bar and Restaurant in Naguru.
At a press conference announcing the event, event promoter and Somewhere Else owner Peter Bowser assured the media that everything is ready and promised fun and enjoyment for all who attend next weekend.
“Now that we have great partners like I&M Bank and UBL, I want to assure you and all ABBA fans that we are fully prepared to put on a world-class event. Our team has put in a lot of hard work to make sure this event is unforgettable. Our partners make it all that much easier. We look forward to seeing everyone ready to have a great time, reminiscing about the good old days and creating new memories to cherish,” said Bowser.
Bowser added that revelers who wear ABBA-style outfits, such as sleek suits, flared jeans or disco-style spandex bodysuits, will receive special recognition.
Tickets for each show are priced at UGX150,000 and can be purchased on Quicket. However, I&M Bank MasterCard holders can enjoy a 10% discount on tickets purchased using their cards.
Bowser also stressed that the event will have a limited number of tickets, with each show only able to accommodate 400 spectators.

I&M Bank has recently partnered with numerous music events across a variety of genres. Nakiyaga explains that the bank’s partnership with ABBA Re-Björn will give customers who love iconic pop and disco from the 70s and 80s a chance to relive and celebrate that unforgettable era.
On the other hand, Uganda Breweries Limited will ensure that show goers will be able to quench their thirst while singing at the concerts, with Gordon’s Gin and Tanqueray on the menu.
“As UBL, we pride ourselves on having an extensive drinks catalog. From a consumption perspective, we will be able to cater to everyone. We will have bottled drinks available, plus our expert mixologists will create cocktails to suit everyone’s taste,” said Brian Balaba, UBL Reserve Manager.
