“Maybe by the end of the year there will be news about the possible opening of an Argentine Consulate”. This was explained by the President of Argentina in Andorra, Marcelo Ponce. In this sense, he declared that this is a decision that belongs to the new Argentine government and that is why we have to wait. In any case, it highlights the progress that has been made in this regard. For this, he explained that what they have done is to restore relations with the Argentine Consulate, to establish a “direct relationship”. For this, a direct line was set up for those living in Andorra and an email for any emergency. These are “small things”, Ponce realized, but they help all the Argentines living in Andorra, who are now an important group.

Thus, in a little over a year, Ponce confirmed that the “fixed conditions” for residence and work authorization have increased from about 2,000 to 3,500, thanks to the flexibility of the requirements, which allows the move to the general expense to the winter season, a number that will increase to 5,000 as the season arrives. The president of the Andorran Argentines and his compatriots said that not only will Argentine workers arrive in the winter season, but also most of the quota for this summer will be filled.
