Super substitute Nikolas Sattlberger beat Genk to take 10 wins in 15 games and tie for the lead

Thorsten Fink must have been pleased with the 4-2-3-1 formation he used in the practice match against Fortuna Sittard. He also started against Westeros with a four-man defence, with a midfield triangle of Henin, Hrosovsky and Karesas.

Westeros is not just on top after five matchdays. Playing football under new coach Timmy Simmons Wester Bold and free, this was no exception at the Chegka Arena. Forward Conor Romens was particularly impressive in the opening stages, with Freegen’s shot immediately needing a good block.

However, Genk did not hesitate for long and decisively took control of the match. Thanks to a quick change of balls and a busy Caress, he first sent Stokes and Sol into the goal. Borat grabbed Stokes’ shot but it was quickly caught by the greyhound Sol. However, Reynolds returned in time to assist his goalkeeper.

The scoreline hung in the balance at 1-0, but Gouden Stier Arokodare also failed to score. He was in position twice but misfired with his header and his clever left-footed shot went wide.

Almost Freegen

The final chance came just after the half hour mark, after which Genk’s attack lost its precision and pace. The hosts also gave up the initiative shortly after half-time, with Frigen’s left-handed volley from close range almost having fatal consequences.

As before halftime, Genk quickly took over the game. Stokes soon missed a good chance to volley, and Alokodar missed El Vahedi’s wonderful center. But other than that, Limburg’s attack lacked intelligence and viciousness.

However, it got hotter again in front of Borat’s cage. Arokodare’s goal was just outside the post. Moments later, he was fired in from the right. Vahedi fired the ball back at the far post, but Saul couldn’t get past Borat from close range.

Fink’s Rabbit’s Foot

Thorsten Fink and Bonsu Baah teamed up with the exhausted Karetsa for the final attack. A little later, Satterberg came to relieve Henin as captain, only to find a rabbit’s foot hidden in the vest pocket of the Henk coach.

After fouling Bonsu Bach, Stokes was allowed to shoot a free kick in front of the goal. There, former Genkner Borat passed the ball and blocked the shots of Sattleberg and Bonsu Bach, but super substitute Sattleberg knocked the ball into the net on his second touch: 1-0.

Genk did not relinquish its slim lead and after its third consecutive win made it 10th out of 15 games.
