I am looking for information on James Balla or Bala, b.WFT Est.1720-1728, (will filled out in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania) born after March 1770. His daughter was named Elizabeth Balla-Shelby and his grandson was named Jonathan Shelby. Another possible place James Balla lived was Frederick County, Maryland. What I am looking for is: family origin, parents, birth, marriage, death dates, any document references and any and all family information that would be helpful in locating documents. Immigration information; passing ships, embarkation and/or ports of arrival. Elizabeth Balla-Shelby was the first wife of David Shelby. They were married around WFT Est. 1768-1769. Children were Jonathan b.WFT Est. 1768-1770 died Aug 13, 1797 unmarried, James b.Nov. 22, 1772 (married Hannah Ross, June 23, 1796) died November 11, 1845, Dunkard Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth “Betsy” born 1778, wife of James Burns.
