The Prime Minister’s Office announced that the talks will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2024, and will focus on the development of education in Rwanda. The talks will also be attended by Rwandan Minister of Education, Gaspard Twagirayezu.
Education Minister Gaspard Twagirayezu said one of the things they discussed with the group was to work together on how to promote research and knowledge in schools.
Andreas Schleicher, director of education at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), also confirmed that they plan to work together to improve the quality of education, especially for younger students.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the organization, plans are underway to launch the Programme for International Assessment (PISA) for students in different disciplines next year.
The Rwandan Ministry of Education has launched an international assessment system for 15-year-old students in a program called PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) 2025. This will help Rwanda formulate policies that will help improve education.
Students taking part in international assessments (PISA) are asked about their math, knowledge and language skills.
