Ultra-fast charging naturally requires ultra-efficient charging stations as well. Zeekr’s claimed time of 10.5 minutes is only achievable at 410 kW of charging power and under optimal conditions.
The power figures are quite high, because in Finland, for example, Ionity offers a maximum charging power of 350 kW. And the more efficient the charging, the more expensive the electricity.
Zeekr’s own V3 charging station can indeed charge 410 or even more.
Zeekr also points out that in temperatures of ten degrees below zero, for example, charging time increases to half an hour.
The new battery is a development of the previous generation battery and has a fastest charging time of 15 minutes, from 10% to 80%.
Zeekr is Chinese Jilin Subsidiaries. The wings of the same automotive giant also include Volvo and Polestar.
The first Zeekr was launched in October 2021, and the company says it has delivered 300,000 vehicles to customers to date. Zeekr continues to look for new markets outside of China. In 2023, it opened its first European office in Stockholm.
You might think that a car with a new battery would cost a lot, but those who are used to the high prices of electric cars might be surprised: even the most expensive Zeekr 007 only costs around 38,000 euros in China.
