From September 2022 to June 2024, the defendant made the residents of the neighborhood live through a real nightmare. Or rather, for the residents. Several young women who lived alone. He entered the home of the first one to touch her in her sleep and fled after the victim woke up in fright, taking everything he could.
But over the next few months he returned to the young woman’s residence three times. Fortunately, each time she tried, she woke up to the sound of his footsteps and managed to chase him away.
The man also attacked another resident of the same block, a young mother who was house-sitting for a friend. The 30-year-old entered the home after breaking the shutters.
He then attempted to remove the victim’s pajamas as she dozed off with her two children. The young woman also suddenly woke up and her screams scared off the attacker, who stole her purse in the process.
In the same area, two other victims surprised the thirty-year-old man who was wandering in the garden, one of whom found him with his face pressed against a window. At the hearing where the gendarmes finally arrested him, he confided: ” I get excited about going to see houses. If I see a woman alone, I’ll go there.”.
On Thursday, the man, who has a previous conviction for sexual assault, admitted in the witness box that he targeted his victim:I’d like to try it if they’re willing.”, he said. He also said that he performs on full-moon nights: “So I can see it more clearly”.
“Do you realize how horrible this is for these women? ?, asked the president of the court. No response was returned.
One of the victims also confirmed his trauma: “I haven’t slept in 2 years. I can’t even do my job anymore. I haven’t had a job since May (…) I hope he gets locked up and never comes out again”.
“My client has trouble sleeping. She feels she is no longer able to protect her children.”, lamented the mother’s lawyer.
The defendant argued that he was addicted to methamphetamine.He felt a sense of shame. He was willing to undergo psychological tracking”, she promised.

In light of all these facts, the 30-year-old was sentenced to five years in prison, two of which were suspended. His name will also appear in the national sex offender register and he will be prohibited from appearing at the complainant’s home after his release.
He also had to pay 1.5 million and 500,000 francs in damages to his two main victims. He was jailed after the hearing.
