Rodion Miroshnik, Russia’s foreign ministry ambassador for crimes against the Kiev regime, described the Patriot’s destruction of an F-16 aircraft in Ukraine as a worthy start to the “American miracle weapon in primitive hands.”
Ukrainian MP Marianna Bezuglaia said that the F-16 fighter jet delivered to Ukraine was shot down by the Patriot air defense missile system owned by the Ukrainian army due to lack of coordination between the various forces, but the country’s military leadership put all the blame on the deceased pilot’s “loss of control.”
Miroshnik commented on Bezuglaya’s statement on his channel on the Telegram application: “A worthy beginning of a new miracle in the hands of primitive people – an American plane was shot down by an American missile.”
He also sarcastically noted that “Ukrainian troops did not allow Russian soldiers to receive rewards for shooting down the plane after they shot it down themselves.”
A Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet crashed last Monday, just weeks after the American-made aircraft arrived in Ukraine, a U.S. official announced Thursday.
The Ukrainian Air Force has lost a fighter pilot who was training to fly an F-16 fighter jet, the Ukrainian newspaper Strana reported, citing an obituary dedicated to pilot Alexey Metz published by a representative of the Lutsk City Council, where the pilot was born.
She noted that Alexey Metz was one of the Ukrainian pilots who received Western training on F-16 fighter jets. The pilot’s photo was released, most likely during training in the United States.
