Tokayev pointed out that Kazakhstan’s oil industry has its own history and traditions, and well-known figures of our country have made great contributions to its formation and development.
– Our geologists discovered many mineral deposits. Specialists led by Safi Utebaev, Zholdaskali Dosmukhambetov, Bolekbai Sagingaliev built these mines for the benefit of the country. Obviously, their educational career will always serve as an example for the younger generation. The moral work of the older generation will be properly continued by the next generation. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that there are entire labor dynasties in this field, that is, the production of black gold has become the main occupation in the oil regions today.
The head of state called oil and gas a strategic resource for the country and a pillar of the national economy. At the same time, he expressed appreciation for the work of oil workers.
– Now about 250,000 people work in this field. The oil and gas industry develops with the times. Innovative technologies are introduced into production. New environmental protection standards are developed. In addition to oil production, oil processing has begun in Kazakhstan. Most of the main fuels and oil products are produced in our country. The state company “KazMunayGas” makes a significant contribution to this work. Kazakhstan has become one of the countries that play a major role in the world oil market. We have world-renowned brands. The country’s energy security has been strengthened, the president said.
Tokayev said that global leading oil and gas companies such as Chevron, ExxonMobil, CNPC, ENI, Shell, Lukoil, Total and Sinops have a special influence on the development of my country’s oil and gas industry.
– The development of the Tengiz, Kashagan, Karashiganak deposits, the implementation of the Caspian Pipeline Alliance project are examples of mutually beneficial cooperation between the state and investors. “Kazakhstan is gradually integrating into the global economy and attracting large-scale investments by pursuing an open and thoughtful policy in this area,” the President said.
The head of state drew attention to fundamental changes in the energy sector, the growing importance of logistics and environmental issues and pointed out a number of tasks to be carried out in this area in the future.
– Scientific and technological progress plays a special role in the development of the world oil and gas industry. In order to ensure the steady growth of oil production, it is necessary to actively introduce advanced technologies in geological exploration and oil field development. In the context of unprecedented international instability, further diversification of export routes is the main task. The development of the oil refining industry is of great significance. It is necessary to ensure the stable production of oil products in accordance with modern environmental standards. The head of state said that oil and gas chemistry has a bright future.
The President noted that the Atyrau polypropylene plant was recently launched and stated that other projects in this field should be implemented in a timely manner.
– We need to increase the capacity to produce products with a high level of processing. Oil and gas should become one of the mechanisms for the development of the country’s medium-sized business. This is a vast area. The state is taking comprehensive measures to achieve this goal. Large enterprises should gradually increase their local share and give priority to the production of products of domestic entrepreneurs to meet their own needs. The main task is to strengthen social responsibility and make a significant contribution to the development of socially significant infrastructure. Kassym-Jomart Tokaev said that the focus should be on training qualified specialists.
At the end of the meeting, the President presented national awards to a group of citizens who have made outstanding achievements in the oil and gas sector and made great contributions to the country’s development.
