The Council of Ministers met on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 to review the following documents.

Assistance to the Municipal Development Mission (DDC)

As part of the policy of support and support for municipal investments, the Council of Ministers approved fourteen subsidies for various projects to improve local infrastructure and strengthen public services in eight Polynesian municipalities. The total amount of the operation is 80,673,348 F CFP, of which 46,024,008 F CFP are financed by the State, representing 57% of the total cost. This financial support, combined with the efforts of the municipalities, aims to encourage local sustainable development and guarantee an equitable distribution of resources throughout the territory.

Funding projects cover a number of priority areas:

Serving the people : The cities of Mahena, Fakarava and Punaauia will be equipped with new equipment designed to improve the safety and efficiency of municipal services. This includes the purchase of liaison vehicles, intervention scooters, electric-assisted bicycles for field missions for the municipal police departments, and intervention vehicles for the power departments of the associated municipalities of Kauehi and Laraka. These latest acquisitions will allow law enforcement and municipal services to better meet people’s needs through greater local search.

Infrastructure : The construction of housing for the Hakahau neighborhood in Hunan Province demonstrates the state’s commitment to supporting the Marquesan commune in providing facilities for its residents. In addition, the purchase and installation of two cold rooms for its school catering service is expected to improve storage and sanitary conditions for school meal distribution, thereby ensuring better food quality and enhancing children’s safety.

The APF deliberations of November 19, 1998 regulate consumer information on food by labeling, which was amended by the CM decree of February 22, 2024, and its new provisions must come into force on the 1st^yes September 2024.

One of the main contributions of this amendment is the obligation to inform consumers about the presence of allergens in food.

Although this obligation has existed in Europe since 2011, as well as in other countries with equivalent legislation, a few weeks before these new rules came into force, some local operators said they were having difficulties labelling allergens.

Taking into account the complaints raised by various companies, it is proposed to add a new method of allergen labelling and to provide operators with the possibility to request the competent authorities to use another labelling method while guaranteeing the same objectives, Complete consumer information.

Maintaining hydrocarbon prices1^yes September 2024

Crude oil prices are experiencing significant volatility amid a particularly tense geopolitical backdrop in the Middle East and a slowing global economy.

Taking these factors into account, the Council of Ministers decided to maintain hydrocarbon prices at current levels in September 2024.

Operating subsidies in favor of associations, federations and unions

On the proposal of the Minister of Education, Higher Education and Culture, the Council of Ministers approved the provision of operating subsidies to associations, federations and confederations in the amount of 11 799 988 F CFP.

Organization and challenges of a comprehensive workshop « Creating Hape 2024 »
