Tour of Spain: Stage 12 – Further pressure on O’Connor? / News

Eddie Dunbar won a great victory on stage 11 of the Vuelta, while Ben O’Connor, in the red jersey, encountered difficulties again and lost part of his lead. It was still quite impressive: Primoz Roglic 3:16 and Enric Mas 3:58.

Today O’Connor will have to give it his all again, although limiting the damage may not be as difficult. The gentlemen set out from Ourense on a journey of just under 140 kilometers. The first section is quite rugged, with a series of one to three kilometer climbs that increase by a few percentage points each time.

It’s not easy, but not too complicated either, and then you reach the final climb to the Manzaneda ski area. It’s a sixteen kilometre long climb with an average gradient of just under five per cent, but there are some difficult sections along the way, even peaking at gradients of over ten per cent, especially at the end.

As the distance is short, people only start riding their bikes around 2:00. It may take another hour before we can get a real-time image, and the race is expected to be completed around 6:30. For a more detailed preview, we refer to Fokker Forum.
