The Salvadoran Integration Institute and the Normal University of El Salvador have signed a new cooperation agreement aimed at providing the country’s young people with educational opportunities to enter university or technical professions.
“This academic and technological continuity project provides opportunities for the country’s young people to achieve their dreams. We are happy to have universities such as the Faculty of Education and others participating in this project,” said Alejandro Gutman, President Emeritus of the Integration Council.
This agreement strengthens the University’s support for the project, as it had already signed a similar agreement in March of this year. The scholarships awarded will allow young people to start their studies in the 01/2025 cycle, opening new doors for their professional development.
Gutmann highlighted the impact of the program, noting that 2,000 young people have already joined in the second cycle this year, with another 7,000 expected to join by the end of the year. “Starting in January, there will be around 9,000 to 10,000 young people who have the desire to continue as professionals,” he added.
These actions are part of a territorial control programme that aims to promote a more hopeful future for the country by providing development alternatives for young people from traditionally stigmatised communities.
