Detectives are investigating the mysterious death of a grandmother more than three months after her body was found half-buried on a NSW beach, 800 kilometres from where she was last seen.
On February 29, 63-year-old Wendy Hansen disappeared from her home in Queensland.
She was last seen on CCTV withdrawing cash from an ATM in Monto, 170km west of Bundaberg. Police were called when she did not return home and could not be contacted.
Hansen was again caught on CCTV driving a silver 2007 two-door Mitsubishi Pajero on the Bruce Highway near Mount Mustang on the Sunshine Coast about 2.30pm that day.

The clues were then cut off and no trace of Hansen was found in the next three months.
On June 18, a volunteer carrying out bushland regeneration work at Jetty Beach discovered the half-buried human remains near Jordan Foreshore in Coffs Harbour.
Personal items included a backpack, silver earrings, hairpins and a novel by Anne Marie Conway Butterfly Summer A body was found nearby, but its identity is yet to be determined.
Police initially believed the remains were of historical significance, but further forensic analysis led detectives to believe they may have been on the beach for as long as four years.
