Lake Sevan’s two public free beaches have been open for almost a week, and a large number of holidaymakers are already spending the rest of their lives there.

Also in April, the government took a decision on the organization of public beaches in the recreation area of ​​the “Sevan” National Park, allocating 1.39 hectares and 1.82 hectares of land for this purpose, as well as nearly 66 million drams (about 180,000 US dollars ) funds.

“No private beach has the same facilities and opportunities as these beaches. Currently, free parking, children’s and sports fields, toilets, health units and rescue services are provided. In addition, beach benches have been installed,” says the director of the Coordinator of Public Beaches said Ashot Avalyan, deputy chief of staff at the Ministry of Environment. He added that the area is policed ​​and no alcoholic beverages other than beer are sold.

One of the beaches can accommodate 1200-1300 people, the other 600-700 people, the purity of the water is guaranteed by a universal excavator worth 603,000 euros, which was shipped from Finland last year with To keep the beach clean. Sevan.

In addition to the public beaches created with funding from the state budget, three more public beaches were established near the villages of Shorza, Vardenis and Chkalovka.

The plan is to continue, with the number and “geographic scope” of public beaches expected to expand.

“About 60 areas have been divided to organize public beaches in the future, and gradually we should try to increase the number of public beaches by two to three,” Avayan said.
