Libreville, Wednesday, August 28, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The plot of land will be handed over by CTRI to the Gabonese Energy and Water Company (SEEG) on the occasion of National Liberation Day, August 30, to ensure the survival of this operation.
CTRI delivered 18,000 single-phase meters and 4,500 other three-phase meters to SEEG on August 30, resulting in a de facto price reduction for these devices, a CTRI spokesperson announced in press release No. 65 last Tuesday.
“From now on, the cost of installing a single-phase meter will be 70,000 CFA francs instead of 140,000. As for the three-phase meter, its installation cost will be 120,000 CFA francs instead of 280,000 CFA francs,” said Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi, but recalled that the fixed amount must be adhered to in order to avoid legal action.
The series of announcements also included the implementation of the “One Gabonese, One Meter” initiative to address the problem of meter supply. A CTRI spokesperson said that this process will lead to a gradual standardization of meter models and, in the long term, there will be only one meter instead of multiple suspicious ones.
These measures taken by the Head of State are in line with his recent decision to conduct an audit of SEEG. As a result, the ongoing audit and investigation, as well as the renegotiation of the debt and resolution plan, will continue.
CTRI called on company employees and unions to be patriotic and also announced a complete overhaul of the digitization and security of the entire IT system and the customer journey.
Keep in mind that the Gabon Energy and Water Company is at the center of a major controversy that has rocked the company and users. SEEG only provides public services of drinking water and electricity throughout the country.
