Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a telephone conversation with Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretary-General Vladimir Norov today said there is a need to strengthen regional cooperation to fight the coronavirus.
During the call, the two sides discussed the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic to the international community and mechanisms to strengthen regional cooperation in responding to the pandemic.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister briefed the SCO Secretary-General on the measures taken by Pakistan to combat the spread of the coronavirus, stressing the importance of exchanging experiences, strengthening cooperation and finding ways to limit the spread of the pandemic.
The SCO Secretary-General stressed that the organization is willing to cooperate with member states to coordinate regional efforts to fight the global epidemic.
