U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. CQ Brown and Israeli Army Chief of Staff Gen. Herzi Halevi made a joint visit to the Israeli Army’s Northern Command headquarters on Monday following a serious escalation in tensions between Hezbollah and Israel the previous day.

The Israeli military said, “The commanders conducted a situation assessment at the IAF Operations Command Center on Sunday. Today, they visited the Northern Command headquarters and were briefed on the ongoing conflict with Hezbollah and future combat plans.”

During the visit, the Israeli Army Chief of Staff stressed the current tasks: “Our goal is clear: to ensure the safe and rapid return of the inhabitants of the north to their homes. We are determined to continue to fight Hezbollah, targeting its leaders and destroying its infrastructure and capabilities without stopping.”

Highlighting a recent success, Halevy said: “About a month ago, we eliminated Hezbollah. top Military commander Fuad Shukur Mohansen said: “Yesterday, through preemptive action, we succeeded in thwarting Hezbollah’s attempt to attack citizens in northern and central Israel again. Most of the targets we destroyed were aimed at the north.”

He concluded by acknowledging the continuing threat from Hezbollah, saying: “Hezbollah still possesses significant capabilities and our mission is not yet complete. We are committed to ensuring that residents of the northern region can return to their homes safely, and the IDF is working tirelessly to achieve this goal as soon as possible.”
