Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has one of the longest walking distances for passengers in Europe, according to airport research Parking website Parkos.

Parks said the walking distance from the lounge entrance to Schiphol’s furthest gate is nearly 1.5 kilometers, which puts Schiphol in eighth place. The longest walking distance is at Madrid Barajas, where passengers have to walk 2.5 kilometers to reach the furthest gate, but the airport does offer shuttle buses.

Passengers at Athens Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport also have to walk more than two kilometers, while passengers at Frankfurt Airport and London Heathrow Airport need to walk 1.8 kilometers to reach the farthest gate.

By comparison, Eindhoven Airport is 485 metres away on foot, while Rotterdam Airport is just 189 metres away.
