David Apatan proclaimed September as We Will Never Forget: Battlefield Month of Heroes in the Governor’s Office Conference Room on Capitol Hill Monday morning. Declaring the day as the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Palacios also honored the dedication and sacrifice of first responders, including law enforcement officers, health care workers and school staff. The governor also praised Jerry Tan, president and CEO of Tan Holdings, and the We Will Never Forget: Battlefield Month of Heroes volunteers, who have worked over the years to ensure the event is remembered. “We’ve been doing this since 2016, so this is the ninth year. TSA was created after 9/11, and I think all of the first responders and other government agencies have been keeping Americans safe for the past 23 years since the attacks on our country in 2001,” said Tan.
