On May 20, Foreign Minister Mirzoyan of the Republic of Armenia met with Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, in Vienna.
Interlocutors stressed the role of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty* in non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament.
“As an advocate of non-proliferation, Armenia adheres to its commitment to the Treaty and also values the effective cooperation formed so far with the organization and considers it necessary to increase its visibility in Armenia.”
The interlocutors discussed Armenia’s cooperation with the organization, especially in terms of capacity-building projects.
The meeting discussed current challenges as well as regional issues.
*Note: Armenia signed the agreement on October 1, 1996 and ratified it on July 12, 2006.
