644 athletes from more than 20 countries participated in the championships

The Kyrgyzstan team took second and third place at the Asian Cycling Championships.

The championship was held in Almaty (Kazakhstan) from June 5 to 12. 644 athletes from 21 countries participated in this championship. 10 athletes from Kyrgyzstan participated in the competition.

As Vesti.kg learned from the Cycling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, Alexander Dyadichkin won the silver medal in the Masters 35-39 age group in the team event, and Igor Filin won the bronze medal in the Masters 55-59 age group time trial.

“This is the first medal at the Asian Championships after 10 years; our athlete Evgeniy Vacker last won a silver medal at the Asian Championships in 2014. Our country last participated in Cha in 2017. I am happy to see our red and yellow flag raised on the flagpole at the continental championships. This is a historic moment in the history of Kyrgyzstan,” said the Cycling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
