Red panda Pinga’s best friend, the rare Jielong, has been kidnapped and taken to Africa. Without a moment’s hesitation, the bear sets out on a long journey to rescue his best friend. After a perilous journey across the ocean, Pinga arrives in a distant continent unknown to pandas. There he must rely on his wits and some newfound friends to save Jielong from the evil lion and his henchmen. The animated family film Pandas vs. Africa, about the willingness to ignore one’s own needs to protect their loved ones, even to the end of the world, will be released in Czech cinemas on September 12, 2024.
Ping, a young and lively bear, lives in the bamboo forests of southern China with other giant pandas and the dragon Jielong. After Jielong and his goofy crocodile sidekick kidnap a crazy baboon to Africa, Ping boards a junk boat owned by the orangutan Sailor Star and sets out to rescue his friend. On his way across the ocean to a completely unknown world, Ping meets many animals. Among them are a family of turtles or the cunning monkey Qiao Qiao. He eventually decides to join Ping on a journey through this beautiful but dangerous continent.
Together, the unlikely couple travels through the desert, fights off armies of meerkats and makes friends with angry hyenas. Meanwhile, Jielong becomes a gift to the spoiled lion king Ade. Can Ping save Jielong? Is Ade really the villain, or does someone in the pack have other plans for Jielong? This animated family film will bring an adventure to the big screen through a fantasy world inhabited by talking animals, without people, countries, borders, governments and armies. Through the long journey of the panda baby, its creators have indeed angered the audience, but they have also brought attention to the importance of tolerance for foreign countries and cultures that are different from ours, but this does not mean that we have to be afraid of them. The Czech version will star Jan Škvor, Martin Sobotka, Petra Hobzová, Zbyšek Horák, Hynek Hoppe, Sabina Rojková and others.
